A candle is burning, a flame warm and bright,
a candle of hope in December’s dark night
A candle is burning, a candle of peace,
to signal that conflict must cease
(adapted from Voices United)
Singing the above lines during service at the Whitehorse United Church today made my tears flow in one of these synchronous experiences where I am perfectly safe and fine, but feel the pain and sorrow of the many in this world who are not.
To learn about a similar experience, please see my latest audiovisual project: “Walking Home” – a short film that tells another moment of synchronicity without the use of words.
I wish you all a peaceful and blessed day and week to come. I also invite you to leave a few words, a comment or feedback, in the box below.
